The Educational Outreach Program of the Susquehanna Chorale consists of four programs: The Susquehanna Children's, Youth, and Young Women's Chorales, and the Preparatory Choir.
Participation in the Children's, Youth, and Young Women's Chorales is by audition. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings in Camp Hill from late August to November. Scholarships are available to offset tuition costs.
Children's Chorale (students entering grades 4 though 8): Singers should be prepared to sing one verse of My Country 'Tis of Thee. No accompanist needed.
Youth Chorale and Young Women's Chorale (students entering grade 9 through college freshman year): Singers may bring their own accompanist, use the accompanist provided (bring your own music), or sing a cappella.
Susquehanna Youth Chorale
The Susquehanna Youth Chorale, conducted by George H. Diehl, provides a focused rehearsal and performing opportunity for students within the Susquehanna Valley. The Youth Chorale was founded in 1988 and consists of 60 students in grades nine through freshman year of college.
Susquehanna Children's Chorale
The Susquehanna Children’s Chorale, conducted by Judith A. Shepler, provides a focused rehearsal and performing opportunity for students within a one-hour radius of the Harrisburg, PA area. The Children’s Chorale was founded in 1992 and includes approximately 60 musicians in grades four through eight.
Susquehanna Young Women's Chorale
The Susquehanna Young Women’s Chorale, conducted by Dru Deitch, provides a focused rehearsal and performing opportunity for young female singers with in the Susquehanna Valley.
Susquehanna Preparatory Choir
The Susquehanna Preparatory Choir, conducted by Judith A. Shepler, was added to the Educational Outreach family of choirs in the spring of 2008. This choral experience is offered for students in the 3rd and 4th grades.
Annual Scholarship Concert
The Annual Scholarship Concert will be held on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at 4:00 p.m. at the Camp Hill High School. The concert will feature performances by the Susquehanna Children’s, Youth, and Young Women’s Choirs, as well as several solo performances.
Admission is free. A freewill offering will be taken. Proceeds benefit a Scholarship Fund, to offset EOP tuition costs for students in need.
